The Car Door: Enter and Exit With Ease

A car with all the latest specs is everything that a car enthusiast desires. However, all priorities instantly change once a certain car part starts to fail. It does not matter how basic this part is or even if the defect is just a minor one. Even the slightest damage can lose a car great value, not to mention the inconveniences it can bring to the owner.

Take, for example, the car door. Although this part does not directly affect the performance of the engine, it can still cause a great deal of negative impact to the overall driving experience. Imagine a car owner in a hurry to go to work, only to be disappointed when the car door refuses to open. The worse thing is that it is not only convenience that is compromised by a broken car door, but safety as well.

In fact, various researches have revealed that thousands of accidents in the US are caused by faulty car doors. In response to this growing problem, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has added several rules when it comes to types of car doors that are used by vehicles, especially the sliding door type. According to studies, passengers who take the seats near the vehicles’ doors are the most likely victims of car accidents. Thus many of the major car companies have already fashioned their vehicles’ doors according to the rules of the NHTSA. Latches of vehicle doors have been designed to operate properly at all conditions to avoid passengers from being thrown out of the car when accidents occur.

Aside from ensuring the quality of the car doors to achieve maximum safety, one can also opt to improve the vehicle’s appearance by equipping the doors with add-ons. These include door panels, door magnets, door guards, and door mirrors. Car owners who want to take a step further can have their car doors customized to achieve their preferred specifications.
