Despite the fact I have never really understood any of the terminology, it has become most frightfully tiresome and rather a bore. Which in turn will use more energy to cook, cause more flatulence amongst humans- who will die anyway of mad cow disease. Today I’d like to talk you about green garages. One of my favourite days of the year is Earth Day, this auspicious occasion comes and goes each year on the March Equinox and is a day to remind folks on earth that “ This day is devoted to the preservation of the harmony in nature and yet draws upon the triumphs of technology, the measurement of time, and instantaneous communication through space”. I rest my case. Garages on the other hand, are very real. Maintaining a good garage can be beneficial to your lively hood, well-being and pocket, not to mention the “E” word.
To make your garage more “E”-friendly, here are a few tips:
1. Leave your car in the garage.
Don’t use your car to commute-take the train! If you have public transport –use it! If it sucks like it does where I live. Use it and file complaints about it.
2. Leave your mower in the garage.
Let your grass grow longer. (For a while longer that is-we don’t want to attract snakes).
3. Ride your bike.
Use your bike to go shopping or just walk, where you not only get to exercise (I know you need it)-but you get to be friendly to “E” whilst saving money. Perfect!
4. Insulate your garage.
Use garage door seals and threshold seals. (important)
