Neck tie 101? My husband wants to start wearing a tie more often at work. We both have no clue on that subject. What are the basics one needs to keep in mind while shopping for ties - there are so many in different colors, patterns and different fabrics, too. For example can one wear a striped tie when the suit fabric also has a stripey pattern? What are big 'no-nos' concerning ties? Does one need to wear a jacket while wearing a tie or is it also acceptable to only wear shirt and tie or shirt, sweater and tie? Which color schemes work well with dark shirts, which with light colored shirts? What pattern of tie goes with a striped shirt? Any advice?
